Welcome to the website of Ceramic Lodge No 3827 under the United Grand Lodge of England. Thank you for taking the time to look at our site.
We are a Craft Lodge that meets in the heart of the Potteries at Hanley Masonic Hall, Shelton. We meet on the third Saturday of the month meeting January, February, March, April, September, October, November and December.
The choosing of our Lodge name was discussed at length before our consecration. Discussions upon the foregoing theme lead to a wish being recorded that any name chosen for the new Lodge should not suggest that the lodge was expressly for Commercial travellers since it was desired to open it to all fit and proper persons desirous of being mason. Names such as “The Porcelain Lodge”, “The Potteries Lodge” and “The North Staffordshire Lodge” were banded about. After a period of enthusiastic but inconclusive debate. The compromise was “CERAMIC”, which should be pronounced in the ancient way “KERAMIC”.
We still debate today. Our members are made up today from all walks of life and bound together in Brotherly Love, relief and truth. Masonry’s founding principles. We are a happy Lodge. You just need to come along and see it for yourself.
